The Centre for Health Informatics (CHI) is a core University of Calgary research and innovation centre within the Cumming School of Medicine, established to advance precision medicine and precision public health initiatives through data-driven innovation and collaborative research. CHI faculty and staff leverage their extensive expertise in data collection, access, management, analytics, and visualization to provide end-to-end research data support. The Centre has three core service teams that support researchers at every stage of a research study from inception to dissemination:
Methods, Data, and Analytics – CHI’s team of data scientists, biostatisticians, and HSS analysts can provide support with data access guidance, data creation plans, secondary data access, biostatistical analysis, clinical trial analysis, scoping reviews, knowledge synthesis, and statistical modelling.
Electronic Data Capture and Management – CHI is the Cumming School of Medicine’s exclusive provider of access to the REDCap platform, offering a REDCap system that meets Health Canada/ICH GCP requirements to run phase 3 and regulatory clinical trials.
Custom Data Solutions – CHI’s team of database developers, software developers, and electronic data capture specialists can build creative solutions to support the setup and delivery of research workflows that are tailor-made to the project’s unique needs.
