Founding Organizations
Clinical Trials Alberta is a collaborative strategic initiative that brings together government, academic institutions, healthcare delivery organizations and industry to build Alberta’s clinical trial capacity and capabilities. Clinical Trials Alberta is managed by Alberta Innovates and partners include the University of Alberta, the University of Calgary, the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre, the Cross Cancer Institute, Acute Care Alberta, Cancer Care Alberta and the Government of Alberta. Together, Clinical Trials Alberta works to grow a healthy clinical trial ecosystem and establish Alberta as a premier destination high-quality clinical trials.

Alberta Cell Therapy Manufacturing – Enabling the future of medicine
Regenerative medicine and cell therapies are the future of medicine. They offer the potential to transform the treatment of disease such as cancer and diabetes and the ability to replace damaged tissues and organs, make cartilage for joint repair, and create new therapies to treat autoimmune diseases and organ transplant rejection. The University of Alberta’s Alberta Cell Therapy Manufacturing (ACTM) facility is helping make this future a reality.
Calgary’s Centre for Mobility and Joint Health combines experience with state-of-the-art facilities
Calgary’s Centre for Mobility and Joint Health (MoJo) is one of the province’s most active research imaging facilities. As a key component of the clinical trial infrastructure at the University of Calgary’s Cumming School of Medicine, MoJo is home to state-of-the-art imaging, movement assessment and diagnostic equipment, some of which is only available at a handful of sites worldwide. Complementing this is a highly skilled team of experts and licensed imaging professionals holding extensive research experience.
