Real world data collected from routine health care and other sources generates real world evidence. This evidence captures the impact of a drug, technology, or process on health outcomes outside of controlled clinical trials.
The Alberta Real World Evidence Consortium conducts timely research using real world health system data to produce evidence on disease burden, treatment patterns, safety monitoring, health care cost, and more. This work is particularly value for pragmatic clinical trials and pre-study planning.
